OUR MISSION

The purpose of WVH Charity is to be able to offer, maintain and future proof the use of a community space for all inhabitants of our parish, regardless of political, religious or any other opinions held.

We, as a volunteer committee, manage the charity and this village asset on your behalf. This assets plays a vital role in our community to help fund many other local charities, organisations and groups. We want it to be used by as many people as possible, for as many different causes and organisations as possible. When raising funds ourself, we alway operate with transparency at the forefront of everything we try to achieve and welcome input from our parish. We hope to be able to offer our community a safe space to hold events, private functions, weddings, sports events or any other gathering for many years to come.

WVH is open, welcoming and will always be a space for all!

HOW WE OPERATE

WVH is a registered charity trust run by a local volunteer committee group. This trust has been in operation since 1978 and continues to provide a well resourced, local amenity for the residents of Walgrave and surrounding areas. The hall is perfectly placed to hold many differing event types and welcomes all groups, business, sports clubs and charities to use the facility to hold their events.

Looking after the village hall takes time but also money. We will always endeavour to keep out costs as low as possible to pass any possible savings onto our users. We  base our rates on yearly expenditure and costs. This way, we can continually evaluate our pricing structure based on running costs. This means that we can always offer a fair and competitive rate to all hires.

Keeping the our hall and outside spaces safe and usable is an ongoing task. Checking the safety of equipment and grounds  is all done via our volunteer committee members. If you think you could help with any aspect of running the hall and playing fields, then please do get in touch.

Our hall and playing fields are valuable asset’s and we want to keep them in the best possible condition and with as many features that can benefit the majority of users. As a committee, we discuss all options and ideas for it’s continual improvement. We evaluate all improvement ideas based on need, cost, ongoing maintenance and usage. We will share our latest ideas with you as we value your input as part of our community, via our blog, so… please do get involved as we are “for the community”.

    DOING GOOD!

Having an asset like this in any village is great. Having one in Walgrave is even better. Thats because we believe there are so many good things happening in the village today, from the annual Groove on the green music festival to a local Mum's and tot's groups gathering every week for a play and a chat with friends over a cuppa. Not to forget our local cinema club hosting amazing film nights, and many sports clubs from indoor bowls to large cycling clubs. It's these groups that rely on us as a venue and you as willing participants. We hope this continues long into the future
