FRESH FENCE

With the anticipated start of the cricket season, it was brought to our attention that the boundary fence was looking a little worse for ware. With broken cross beams an rotting wood the decision was made to replace the fence with a new like-for-like replacement. Our thanks go to Tim Whittaker for doing an excellent job and keeping our grounds looking fresh. The fence has all new gates into the old fort (please keep them closed if you use them), and we have also replaced the swing gate at the lower entrance to the old fort.

You may have also noticed that the outside shed has had a small makeover which is a vast improvement and makes the car park area a little more welcoming. New signs are in the planing to also help with entrance appeal. The path alongside the children’s play area has also been re-instated and we plan to lay more surface material in the coming months to keep it well established.

We have also completed woodland clearing within the areas by the car park. This was becoming overgrown and started to harbour lots of rubbish within the brambles and weeds. We intend to keep this area tidy to prevent any future problems.

As a charity we try to keep costs to a minimum so if you feel you could help in any way with maintenance or as a volunteer, please do let us know.

Keeping our playing fields and ground in the best condition is something we take seriously as we hope it can be enjoyed by everyone safely. The car park gate is now open to provide access for all at any time. We are continuing to monitor and maintain the site so we can create the best environment for all to enjoy. If you have any suggestions or see anything you feel needs attention, please drop us a line.
